Redefining Beautiful: What God Sees When God Sees You

Everyone would benefit from this book. Jenna has an honest and sometimes funny outlook on what beauty is. It is very insightful as to how young girls and women view their body. She is uplifting and positive in how she identifies with all of us regardless of age. Her realtionship with God helps her define her inner and outer beauty. It was a joy to to read this book which I review for Thomas Nelson books.

Lonestar Secrets by Colleen Coble

This book was amazing - I truley enjoyed the characters and the storyline. It was something tragic that turned into something beautiful and romantic. I cared about the characters from the first chapter and that grew with each additional chapter I read. It show you that things happen to us for a reason and that there is someone out there looking out for us all the time. I loved this book and can not wait to read more from her.

The Jesus Book

I will start by saying that my daughter loves this book as do I. It is wonderful. It answers so many questions for her such as who, what, when, where and how. It is easy for her to understand and delightful for me to read to her. The CD is a great added bonus that she also enjoys. The illustrations are beautiful and bright and perfect for each section. It would be a great book for home schooling because of the resources toward the back of the book. I have already spoke to my friends about this book and many think they will be getting it too.

Read and Share Toddler Bible

I was excited to receive the Read and Share Toddler Bible. I look forward to reading the book to my 2 1/2 year old daughter as I feel that the book is geared for her age group perfectly. The Stories and illustrations are perfect for her to grasp and understand and the DVD is an added bonus that will teach her even more. It is the perfect size for her little hands to sit and read herself as she thinks she is a "big girl" now. I like how it references for the parents where to find each particular story in their own bible for more knowledge. This will be a book that my daughter loves for years to come. The bright colors and great use of words for little ones to understand make me a very happy parent.

What's He Really Thinking? by Paula Reinhart

What's He Really Thinking? Written by Paula Reinhart is a genius book and I think that everyone should read it. She focuses on the relationship a woman has with the man in her life but it can easily be used to have a better relationship with all men in their circle of family and even friends. Her use of real life examples help cement her knowledge so that you know and say “wow” I get that. I understand. She tries to explain the men’s side and the woman’s side of the situation to show how both minds work in completely different ways revolving around the same situation. I think this should be a requirement for all couples before marriage.

The Noticer by Andy Andrews

The Noticer by Andy Andrews is a wonderful inspirational story about a man named "Jones" who drifts around a southern town and encounters people when they need him the most. It seems that when someone is at a crossroads in their life "Jones" not Mr. Jones, just "Jones" is always around to help you through that crossroads. He has so many words of wisdom that I often wondered if these events actually happened. It seems to me that this is a book that is meant to make you think about your own life and what you can do to help yourself as well as what you can do to help others as you live your every day life. You do not need to do extraordinary things in order to help a person - sometimes it is just being there and offering some reassurance. Overall, I enjoyed the book and would read another of his books in the future.

What is the world coming to?

I watch the news a little and to me it's just not worth it. It's always bad news. Never anything good. Missing children, death, riots, political people treating their spouses unfairly, adultery, lies, etc. Then there is reality TV - which I admit, I am addicted to. Shame on me - I know. But I love it. But even those shows are turning ugly. I mean look at Jon and Kate - horrible. I feel so badly for those kids - but who knows - maybe they will keep getting more free stuff and the other stuff will bu buried for them and Kate. I just wonder if maybe we should be spending our time without any TV and just live in our own little bubble for a week - just keep your weather radio handy for weather alerts to be on the safe side.

Just Starting Out

Testing this out - so I can start reviewing some cool things and write about them.
