The story moved quickly, and the author, Andrew Klavan, writes the scenes in such a way I felt as if I was there. While some of the story was a bit far-fetched, it was entertaining. My pre-teen and teenage daughters also read this book and enjoyed it as well. I was confident in allowing my pre-teen to read this book, as the story had a positive message and the language and story line were appropriate.

a vision of lucy

When David was a child he was dropped off at the orphanage. He decided to run away at the age of 10. What happened after that, affected everyone involved for years to come. David must learn to forgive the boys who made him the man he is today. Lucy must learn to trust God with her future--with David and her photography. Lucy helps David figure out who he is and track down who tried to kill him when he was 10.The whole community is affected by the discovery of what happened so many years ago. See how a town comes together to stand behind someone, even if they are part Indian and part white man. David has to overcome barriers he has placed in his life because of what he thinks others will do and how they will treat him. He is surprised people will accept him as he is. A Vision of Lucy is about forgiveness and figuring out what God wants to do with your life.

I am thrilled to have been selected by BookSneeze to be a blogger for the Women of Faith Conference in Atlanta, GA. Learing about what true courtship is makes me want my daughter to have that experience. I know, I know, it won't really happen but A mom can pray that her experience will be amazing. A trilogy of love stories that express so much joy and happiness. In “Healing Hearts,” Naaman Lapp decides he needs to take a break from his family. After thirty-one years of marriage, Naaman leaves to visit some family, not knowing when or if he’ll return. Levina doesn’t understand why her husband left and is further confused when he returns eleven months later. The Amish faith requires her to forgive but can she truly forgive Naaman? When a sheriff comes looking for her husband, Levina wonders if he returned on his own or came seeking refuge. Can she trust him again? Ellie Chupp loses her sight in a car accident in “What the Heart Sees.” This same accident kills Christopher Miller’s fiancée and he leaves the community, angry that the one responsible wasn’t punished. Five years later he returns only to find out his sister is engaged to the man who was driving the car. Can Christopher learn to forgive as Ellie has done?

The Way Home

Dean Cain played an amazing role in this film. He really made you feel what he was going through. A boy goes missing while under his fathers supervision and a whole town rallies. It is a movie for the whole family and teaches so many lessons. Be there for others. Always have your faith, and never waiver on it. I received this movie free from booksneeze and I am so glad I got the opportunity to watch it. It is amazing. I have recommended this movie to many people already. The message that the story is sending is clear… faith that God would not let you endure more than you could handle, and with God’s will, all will be right again apart from the child and spousal negligent message. God does not give you more than you can handle.

Max Lucado - Outlive Your Life

I am a book reviewer for booksneeze and I received this book free and I enjoyed it and hope that many people read it and enjoy it too because it is wonderful. It is wonderful to be challenged in this way during these hard times.

Faithful By Kim Cash Tate

I loved this book, it made me feel like I wanted Cyd to be my best friend. Everything from Scripture memory, tips on being beautiful on the inside, profiles of women in the Bible, Scripture promises, skits, songs to sing, teaching manners and values. Each feature is full of fun activities and questions to help your little princess grow. If you are looking for something to help you and your daughter spend time in the Bible together, God's Little Princess Devotional Bible will be a huge help.
The practical and fun features offer guidance, encouragement and truth as Christ is begins to form himself in the heart of my `dreamer'. These features stimulate conversation between us as she seeks to pursue the right dreams that God has for her, while steering her away from the false dreams that she is bombarded with at school and through the secular media. As we have pursued the questions together, completed the challenges, and acted out the drama's we have shared some tender moments together.

Redefining Beautiful: What God Sees When God Sees You

Everyone would benefit from this book. I look forward to reading the book to my 2 1/2 year old daughter as I feel that the book is geared for her age group perfectly. The Stories and illustrations are perfect for her to grasp and understand and the DVD is an added bonus that will teach her even more. It is the perfect size for her little hands to sit and read herself as she thinks she is a "big girl" now. I like how it references for the parents where to find each particular story in their own bible for more knowledge. This will be a book that my daughter loves for years to come. The bright colors and great use of words for little ones to understand make me a very happy parent.

What's He Really Thinking? by Paula Reinhart

What's He Really Thinking? Written by Paula Reinhart is a genius book and I think that everyone should read it. She focuses on the relationship a woman has with the man in her life but it can easily be used to have a better relationship with all men in their circle of family and even friends. Her use of real life examples help cement her knowledge so that you know and say “wow” I get that. I understand. She tries to explain the men’s side and the woman’s side of the situation to show how both minds work in completely different ways revolving around the same situation. I think this should be a requirement for all couples before marriage.

The Noticer by Andy Andrews

The Noticer by Andy Andrews is a wonderful inspirational story about a man named "Jones" who drifts around a southern town and encounters people when they need him the most. It seems that when someone is at a crossroads in their life "Jones" not Mr. Jones, just "Jones" is always around to help you through that crossroads. He has so many words of wisdom that I often wondered if these events actually happened. It seems to me that this is a book that is meant to make you think about your own life and what you can do to help yourself as well as what you can do to help others as you live your every day life. You do not need to do extraordinary things in order to help a person - sometimes it is just being there and offering some reassurance. Overall, I enjoyed the book and would read another of his books in the future.

What is the world coming to?

I watch the news a little and to me it's just not worth it. It's always bad news. Never anything good. Missing children, death, riots, political people treating their spouses unfairly, adultery, lies, etc. Then there is reality TV - which I admit, I am addicted to. Shame on me - I know. But I love it.
